Entertainment company CJ ENM‘s “MAMA AWARDS” will be held in the United States for the first time.

According to CJ ENM on July 18, the “MAMA AWARDS” will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles (LA) on November 21 (local time) and in Osaka, Kyocera Dome, Japan from the 22nd to the 23rd.
In other words, the ceremony will take place over three days in total in different time zones. The awards ceremony will also be broadcast live around the world on major global channels. In particular, the Dolby Theater is the venue where the Oscars are held every year.
Marking its 25th anniversary this year, the “MAMA AWARDS” began in 1999 as Mnet’s “Video Music Awards.” The company launched the first Asian music awards ceremony in Korea in 2009 and evolved into the “Mnet Asian Music Awards“. Then it was held in Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Japan, and will enter the United States, the world’s largest music market.
The concept of this year’s awards ceremony is “BIG BLUR: What is Real?“. It aims to present “the new thing that didn’t exist in the world” by combining music, culture and tastes in the era of Big Blur, which means breaking the boundaries between industries.
Shin Hyung Kwan, head of CJ ENM‘s music content division, said: “It will offer something not to be missed, from surreal performances that cross borders to stages that go beyond space constraints to interactive scenes with K-pop.“
