KANG DANIEL recently released his fifth mini album, “ACT.” This is his first comeback in a year and three months. “I’m more excited and nervous than when I debuted,” KANG DANIEL said ahead of his album release.
It wasn’t a very long break, but in the meantime, KANG DANIEL suffered from the closure of the entertainment agency he founded. In May, he sued majority shareholder “A” for falsifying private documents, embezzlement and breach of trust, and the case is still under investigation. KANG DANIEL said, “I was unlucky,” and added, “I felt like five years had passed in vain, and I felt an indescribable emptiness.“
He managed to calm down, though. “What’s past is past. I learned to calm my anger. That’s how I put an end to it. Of course, I get angry when I think about it, but emotions don’t last.” he said.
Despite the difficulties, he found a new agency. This time, he signed with the agency as an artist, not as CEO.
“I wanted to continue to resign as CEO. I felt a lot of pressure. I feel more relaxed now, because I only have to worry about my music.”
I was hurt by people from my old agency, but I still have closer relationships with others. KANG DANIEL explained: “When I work, I feel that the connection with others is the most important. I become sensitive when I work, but the people I have worked with for a long time understand me better. They organize my thoughts that I can’t explain well. That’s why I chose this agency naturally.“
In the process, he said he felt the importance of music and the stage. “I was a good friend of music. I started studying the essence of music again,” he said. As a result, he was able to complete the album in about two months after working on the music.
“The fans who love me, the recordings, and the songs I was able to sing were not a given. That’s why this album feels more precious. In the end, music was the driving force. I’m also very greedy.”
Like a frog that shrinks a lot and then tries to run big, KANG DANIEL showed a strong desire for music and the stage. He said, “I want to act a lot. This is the part I want the most. It’s not just the stage, but I want to show myself a little better.” In particular, he emphasized, “I think I studied more this time than during my activities. I want to have fun with it.“
He had many plans as well as aspirations, and he was looking forward to his new beginning, saying, “I hope everything goes well as planned.” With his inevitable military service soon upon him, he said he already had a song he wanted to release before he enlisted, burning his will for activities in the future.
