Singer HANEUM has expressed his determination to establish his unrivaled position as a “solo idol.”
HANEUM debuted by releasing his digital single “첫사랑 (First love)” in Korea and Japan in April last year. Appearing in Korea under the nickname “the only solo idol,” HANEUM continued his career on Korean music programs and fan meetings in Japan.
“I started dreaming of becoming an idol when I was in elementary school, and since I fell in love with pop songs when I was in middle school, I thought I wanted to work as a solo singer who sings and performs like that,” he told the media outlet Sports Kyunghyang on the 28th of last month.
“I was a trainee at Big Hit Music and Cube Entertainment for about two years. But as time went by, I felt like I was drifting away from what I wanted to do. He also participated in the composition and writing of the lyrics for his new digital single “기분 내러 가자“, released on November 4, stating “I am still in the process of becoming a good singer, but one day, I want to show you my excellent work, from singing to performing to performing on stage.”
He also said that he was influenced by pop singer Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” to decide to become a solo artist, and said, “Since I want to become a solo idol, I want to show more of myself as a pop dance singer. I want to be a singer who explodes dopamine by myself like Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and BoA as a Korean singer.”
