CHOI MINHWAN
Police have concluded that CHOI MINHWAN, a former member of the boy band FTISLAND accused of forcibly harassing his wife and participating in a prostitution business, has been acquitted due to insufficient evidence.

Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on November 29 that it has decided not to prosecute CHOI MIN HWAN, who is accused of violating the Sex Trade Suppression Act and violating the Sexual Violence Suppression Act (forcibly harassing relatives), after concluding that he cannot be charged. The reason is that there is not enough evidence to prove the charges.
Earlier, police received complaints about the matter last month and launched an investigation. At the time, the plaintiff stated, “CHOI MIN HWAN’s behavior toward his wife Yulhee when he was with his family does not meet the legal interest of protection, which is the right to sexual self-determination of free and equal individuals, and it constitutes a criminal constitutive requirement of the crime of forcible harassment because it can be considered as ‘the exercise (assault) of unlawful tangible power against another person’s body.’”
Earlier on the 24th of last month, CHOI MIN HWAN’s ex-wife Yulhee claimed on her personal YouTube channel that CHOI MINHWAN was drunk and touched her body in front of her family and inserted money into her bra, causing an uproar.
CHOI MINHWAN and Yulhee married in 2018 and have a son and two daughters, but announced their divorce in December last year. Yulhee released the transcript and revealed that CHOI MINHWAN had entered entertainment establishment during his marriage.
Subsequently, CHOI MINHWAN was charged by the police for violating the sex trafficking law. He left the KBS 2TV entertainment show “Superman is Back,” in which he appeared. The band FTISLAND announced that they would work as a two-member group, excluding CHOI MINHWAN.
