Members of THE BOYZ, who will be leaving their agency to join a new one as soon as possible, are discussing the group’s name they are going to use for their future activities.
There is a lot of information online but many are rumors and nothing is decided yet. Below is the translation of the statement sent by the group’s current agency, IST Entertainment, on the social network X on December 4, 2024 regarding the current situation :
“We express our regret for the recent blatant misinformation regarding trademark rights and wish to remedy it.
Contrary to what has been reported, our company has decided to grant the right to use the trademark to the 11 members of THE BOYZ free of charge, and we have already informed the members.
Furthermore, we intended to allow the free use of trademark rights in any activity (group and individual activities, etc.) that the 11 members agree to.
Furthermore, for a member who still has about 6 months of exclusivity contract, we have decided to terminate the exclusivity contract early regardless of the remaining term of the contract in support of his activities within the new agency, and we have already communicated this intention to the member in question.
Our decision to provide free trademark usage rights to the members who are the “core entities of the team” rather than to the new agency was a decision based on our concern for deeper and smoother encounters and more active activities between the members and fans in the future.
In order to support the sustainability of the group’s name THE BOYZ, which is loved by the public, and the barrier-free encounter with fans, we thought it would be better to provide free trademark usage rights to the members.
The message that “an excessive price for trademark rights was requested” and the message that “a request exceeding the normal level was requested from the new company” are also different from the truth. On the contrary, our company was waiting for various proposals with an open attitude regarding trademark rights, and we only had some basic and general discussions to ensure a smooth acquisition and transfer.
Although our company’s relationship with THE BOYZ has unfortunately ended, we promise to support THE BOYZ so that they will not suffer any inconvenience in their future activities, and we will sincerely support their future activities.”
In the meantime, the group’s members continue to keep their fans updated and have confirmed that they will continue their career with the eleven members of the group.
