LE SSERAFIM takes a leap towards “world class” by extending its influence in the United States.
According to American market research firm Luminate, LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae) ranked 66th in the Luminate Index in the third quarter of 2024. This is the highest ranking among K-pop singers.
The “Luminate Index” consists of streaming (30%), social media (15%), artist awareness (25%), popular appeal (15%), participation score (ticket sales for live events and live streams, participation for brands, etc.). It can only enter the ranking if it is supported by popularity as well as fandom. LE SSERAFIM proudly ranked among major pop stars such as Dua Lipa, ranked 65th, and Lil Wayne, ranked 67th, proving that its influence has grown significantly since this year.
These achievements are the result of LE SSERAFIM‘s consecutive successes and awards at major overseas award ceremonies. First, LE SSERAFIM entered Billboard’s main “Hot 100” song chart, called the “Dream Chart,” at No. 99 with the title track “Easy,” released in February this year. Within six months, they ranked 76th on the “Hot 100” with their fourth mini album, the title track “Crazy,” and held the chart for two consecutive weeks, achieving the best performance by a K-pop girl group this year.
After their first full-length album “UNFORGIVEN” was released in May last year, the members successively ranked in the top 10 of Billboard’s main album chart, “Easy” and “Crazy”, proving their strong local popularity. LE SSERAFIM is the first girl group to have three consecutive albums in the “Top 10” of the chart.
In September, LE SSERAFIM won the PUSH Performance of the Year category at the “2024 MTV Video Music Awards“, one of the four major popular music awards in the United States, and impressed the local audience with a solo performance at the Pre-Show, which is called the gateway to pop stars. In November, the group became the first K-pop girl group to perform as an official performer at the “2024 MTV European Music Awards” and was honored in the Best Push category.
At the same time, LE SSERAFIM will accelerate its activities at home and abroad at the end of this year. They will appear at KBS2’s “2024 Music Bank Global Festival in JAPAN” on the 19th, SBS’s “Song Contest” on the 25th, and the 9th Asian Artist Awards on the 27th. On the 31st, they will be invited to NHK’s representative year-end program “The Red and White Song Competition” for three consecutive years to decorate the stage.
