LOVELYZ’s KEI will release her first solo song in five years.
The digital single “WINTER GARDEN,” which will be released at 6 p.m. KST on December 19, is KEI’s first solo song in five years since her mini album “OVER AND OVER,” which was released in October 2019. Although she has lent her voice as a solo artist in various dramas and soundtracks, she is expected to show her own music to the public after a long time.
“Winter garden” is an R&B ballad genre that maximizes KEI’s soft and delicate vocals. With the minimal sound complemented by warm string instruments and piano, KEI’s tone harmonizes to depict a transparent winter with a white snow landscape.
“Winter garden” was composed by Monotree’s production team HALLIN, Frankie Day, and Ayushy from The Hub, while Monotree’s PDLY, Koo Jun-gu (9june9), and KEI contributed lyrics themselves.
The lyrics of “Winter garden” contain a message that beautiful memories and hope for tomorrow can warm our hearts in the middle of winter when time seems to have frozen and stopped. Since KEI participated in the lyrics herself, she delicately captured the emotions in each beautifully coordinated lyric.
In particular, LOVELYZ’s father Yoon Sang participated as a sound supervisor and was able to experience the unique charm of solo artist KEI at the same time. KEI’s agency A2Z Entertainment said, “I hope you can share the warmth of the song and listen to it warmly this winter.”
