LEE YOUNGHYUN
Solo singer LEE YOUNGHYUN makes her comeback today, during a showcase in Seoul.
This third album entitled «PRIVATE» is the opportunity for the artist to indulge in open heart, the different tracks present in the album were mostly written and composed by her. The lyrics are about love, focusing on precious moments of our lives, with eleven tracks, highlighted by three MV presented during the showcase. Focus on the future, not the present, and be grateful to those around us.
The singer may not be unknown to some, since she made her debut in 2003 with the group «BIG MAMA», before becoming a solo artist. The group made their debut under M BOAT, a former branch of YG ENTERTAINMENT. Originally composed of four members, it released five albums before splitting in 2012. As for LEE YOUNGHYUN, among her most famous titles are OST, including «Pt.1: Miracle», from the drama «GOOD DOCTOR».
The showcase begins as usual with a clip teaser, allowing to introduce the artist before she goes on stage to meet the journalists present today. Some photos are taken, and the showcase is a succession of discussions with MC and LEE YOUNGHYUN, and releases of clips in number of three: «Just love», «Star», «미뤄둔 이별이 온다». This comeback is all the more expected since the singer’s last album was released eight years ago.
This comeback comes after the artist wanted to deliver love messages to her fans and loved ones, which is why she participated in writing and composing ten of the eleven songs on the album. It was also difficult for her to focus on one title song, so she preferred to present three songs to journalists and fans to express a diverse range of emotions. She also asked for advice from the staff of her current agency, HO ENT.
The shooting of the three previously mentioned clips left her with beautiful memories, whether in relation to the filming or the emotions felt. It is also the first time she is playing her entire album to her relatives, having preferred to keep the surprise until the comeback, and having listened to it alone again last night via headphones to avoid someone hearing it by mistake.
The first MV broadcast, «Just love» is sober, simply depicting the singer performing her title. This allows you to focus on the power of her voice, and delivered words. It is followed by “Star”, which responds to the same cinematographic process. The only difference is in the location and outfit of LEE YOUNGHYUN, who was originally dressed in white but now wears a flamboyant red. In addition, at the end of the music a choir of singers accompanies the artist, to give the impression that we are attending a musical.
The last title, “미뤄둔 이별이 온다” is a message delivered to the family, between the parent-child bond. The singer is this time dressed in grey and black, barely lit to highlight her hazel eyes. After returning to the stage, LEE YOUNGHYUN sings the chorus of “Star”, later revealing that some songs on the album were written by her almost ten years ago, and during recording, this caused a lot of emotions.
The talent and vocal power of the singer are not to be questioned, and the journalists present make it clear to her with applause. Despite everything, the recordings were not very easy, given the high notes she must sing. The other songs that make up this album are : « Rain », « 빚을 담음 너에게 », « 오늘도 사랑해 », « 너를 잊는 방벙 », « 평범한 하루 », « 네가 없잖아 », « Dear.Love of my heart », « 해, 달 그리고 별들 », the emphasis is therefore on the Korean language rather than English, as we are used to seeing nowadays in the Kpop.
She writes songs that have special meanings for her, and each one has a hidden meaning. It’s an album she enjoyed making, and is looking forward to sharing her new songs with her audience, and her children. It was with sincerity and big smiles that LEE YOUNGHYUN confided in the journalists, silent to pay attention to her words. The singer had a charming aura throughout the showcase, which seemed to charm the audience.
