JYP Entertainment‘s girl group NiziU will release their first Japanese mini album “AWAKE” on February 5.

NiziU will be releasing its first mini album, “AWAKE,” in Japan on February 5. The announcement draws fans’ attention with this first mini album since its official debut in Japan in December 2020. At midnight on January 8, the album released its music and the music video for its title track, “Yoake,” and warmed up the mood for its comeback.
The title track “Yoake” is a song about the members’ “growth” as they head out into the wider world, and features a melody that evokes vague emotions. The music video completes a richer narrative with a performance featuring all nine members of MAKO, RIO, MAYA, RIKU, AYAKA, MAYUKA, RIMA, MIIHI, and NINA’s delicate emotional performance that catches the eye and touches the hearts of viewers.
NiziU won two awards at the 2024 Asia Star Entertainer Awards (“ASEA 2024”) held in Yokohama, Japan in April 2024, followed by the Artist of the Year category at The Fact Music Awards 2024 (TMA 2024) held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan in September. In July, the first EP album in Japan, “RISE UP”, proved its popularity by winning the Oricon weekly album chart and Billboard Japan’s “Top Album Sales” weekly album chart.
NiziU released a video of “NiziU “We need U 2025“” on their official channel and introduced the plans that will be carried out this year. In addition to the release of new albums, overseas activities, collaborations, the fourth live tour, anniversary content, and new reality shows, the release of a new logo was also announced, raising expectations.
At the same time, NiziU has been successfully developing its first winter tour “NiziU Live with U 2024-2025 “AWAKE”” since November. The tour, which will take place in eight Japanese cities with a total of 18 performances, will be held in Tokyo from January 8 to 9 and January 11 to 12, in Osaka from January 21 to 22, in Miyagi from February 8 to 9, in Aichi from February 15 to 16, and in Fukuoka from February 22 to 23.
