BIGBANG former member SEUNGRI (real name Lee Seung Hyun) seems to be eyeing Chinese money.
According to a report by the media outlet “My Daily” published this Wednesday, SEUNGRI recently arrived in China. He is reportedly developing a new business there.
An entertainment industry official told the media, “SEUNGRI flew to China last month,” adding, “He is very interested in the entertainment industry.“
“He doesn’t have any domestic plans. He doesn’t have the same plans as before, as he is aware of the harsh scrutiny and public opinion. However, he is preparing to create an entertainment company that will allow him to succeed, and he believes he will make the most of his personal relationships,” he added.
Another official explained, “It’s true that he has lost contact with the BIGBANG members, but he still gets along well with people he was close to before. I understand that he left China to find another path, while talking business with them naturally.“
Earlier in 2020, SEUNGRI was charged with habitual gambling, violation of the Special Prostitution Act, intermediation of prostitution and suppression of crimes of sexual violence, violation of the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act, violation of the Food Sanitation Act, embezzlement at work, aggravated punishment for certain economic crimes, and special assault against teachers. He served a year and a half in prison and was released in February 2023.
