Group I-DLE confirmed its comeback on May 19.

Cube Entertainment‘s agency released a video for “for (G)” on its official social media accounts (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua) on May 2nd.
In the video, the members of I-DLE mourn “G,” whom they were with, by dancing and laughing in a shower of wine, surrounded by people dressed in black robes. Afterward, everyone disappears, and G’s coffin is set ablaze, and a voice sings “누가 뭐 겁나? (Who’s afraid of what?)” from the lyrics of their debut song, “Latata.”
At the same time, I-DLE announced the release of its eighth mini-album. At the end of the video, which contains a farewell message to “G,” important dates such as May 5th, 6th, 9th, 14th, 16th, and 19th appear, piquing curiosity.
Pre-orders for I-DLE’s eighth mini-album have also begun. The album is available in three versions, and a poster is included for pre-orders of both the album and CD versions. A photo album without a CD has also been released, enhancing the album’s value by allowing users to enjoy various digital content through QR codes.
To celebrate the 7th anniversary of their debut, (G)I-DLE has changed their group name from (G)I-DLE to I-DLE. The members of I-DLE, who all renewed their contracts with Cube Entertainment last December, will present freer music and concepts by removing the “G” and parentheses from their group name, which they have formed since their debut on May 2, 2018. This name change notably demonstrated I-DLE’s influence in China and abroad, ranking at the top of real-time searches on Weibo in China.

I-DLE will be visiting fans through various content before its comeback on May 19.
