I-DLE is opening a new era for “아이들 (I-DLE)” with the story of “us”.
Cube Entertainment released a poster for the 8th mini album “WE ARE” on May 6th on the official social media of the group I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua).
The poster drew attention with its unique design: symbols representing children on a simple white background form the word “We are.” This symbol, shaped like a star with five “i”s joined together, signifies that five members of I-DLE have come together and are reborn as a unified group. These intertwined symbols form the album name “WE ARE,” giving it a special meaning.
I-DLE’s eighth mini-album, “WE ARE,” is its first in about 10 months, since the release of its seventh mini-album, “I SWAY,” last year. Since their debut in 2018, the members of I-DLE have been exploring the “I” series, beginning with their debut mini-album, “I AM.” While the “I” series emphasized each member’s identity, “WE ARE” conveys the message that the five members form a stronger team.
Additionally, the members also released a series of new photos for this comeback. After a more abstract first version, the effect is much more “street” and strong with this second series of photos.
In early January, MINNIE launched her first solo career with the release of her mini-album “HER,” and YUQI released her digital single “RADIO (Dum-Dum),” which was certified triple gold by QQ Music in China. MIYEON made a strong impression in the country, topping NetEase Cloud Music’s Korean chart with “Glow up,” a collaboration with Chinese artist Jike Junyi. With the members receiving acclaim for their solo albums and songs this year, anticipation is growing for the eighth mini-album “WE ARE,” which will be a comeback with the full group.
