SUNGHOON, member of the boy group ENHYPEN, was selected as the K-pop artist who best suits Halloween makeup and costumes, according to fan voting platform Picnic.
Throughout the poll that took place from October 2 to 16, SUNGHOON ranked in first place with 16,836 votes. SAN of ATEEZ came in second position with 16,521 votes, followed by JUHOON of CORTIS with 16,210 votes.
Picnic attributed SUNGHOON’s selection to his composed visuals, which have become closely associated with ENHYPEN’s vampire concept. The connection between his image and the Halloween theme resonated with fans, the platform said.
The group has shown costumes and makeup inspired by vampires through their music and content, notably their 8th EP album “THE SIN: BLISS”, released in August. The album tells the story of a vampire and his beloved who defy taboos and run away together.
SUNGHOON also adapted his expressions and styling to match the album’s concept.
In contrast with his usually composed and neat image, he showed a different facet on stage through intense gazes and a darker atmosphere. This transformation helped fans associate him with a distinct character, according to the platform.
ENHYPEN plans to release the digital version of their upcoming spin-off single “THE SIN: PARALLEL WORLD” on November 20, with the physical album scheduled for release on November 23.
