SM Entertainment co-representatives JANG CHUL HYUK and TAK YOUNG JUN have been named Billboard’s “Global Power Players.”

SM Entertainment Co-CEOs JANG CHUL HYUK and TAK YOUNG JUN have been named among Billboard’s 2025 Global Power Players, announced on its official website on May 19 (local time).
Global Power Players is Billboard’s annual list of leaders who have achieved exceptional performance in the music market outside the United States. This year, the name has been changed from International Power Players to Global Power Players. CEO TAK YOUNG JUN has been selected for four consecutive years since 2022, and CEO JANG CHUL HYUK for two consecutive years since last year, confirming his influence as a global leader.
Billboard declared, “SM Entertainment successfully completed its world tour,” citing AESPA’s second world tour, which featured 43 concerts in 28 regions worldwide from June 2024 to March 2025. It also highlighted the performance of “Ariana,” the debut single by British boy band “dearALICE” with Kakao Entertainment, which peaked at number two on the UK’s Official Physical Singles Chart, stating, “It revolutionized the K-pop paradigm.”
In addition, SM Entertainment announced its new slogan, “THE CULTURE, THE FUTURE,” to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025 and is offering a variety of content. Specifically, “SMTOWN LIVE 2025” will be held in London in June and Tokyo in August, following concerts in Seoul, Mexico City, and Los Angeles.
