V will receive simultaneous celebratory support in Japan and Korea for his discharge on October 10th.

V‘s Japanese fanclub, TaeTae Universe (BTSV_JPN), announced that they will organize a support event to celebrate V’s discharge, marking the end of his 1 year and 6 months of military service, and to express gratitude for his safe return.

In Korea, videos celebrating V’s return will be broadcast on large LED screens at two locations near Hongdae Station. A large screen located on a building near Exit 2 of the station, measuring 16 meters wide and 14 meters high, is positioned at a very visible intersection, offering excellent visibility for many passersby to watch the celebration video. Another video will be broadcast on a 13.2-meter-wide and 17.2-meter-high LED screen located on another building near Exit 9 of Hongdae.
In Japan, V’s discharge celebration videos will be shown on giant screens in 9 major cities. The videos will be broadcast simultaneously in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Hokkaido, Akita, Hiroshima, Tokushima, Fukuoka, and Okinawa, on large screens located in downtown areas. These screens include well-known panels for their visibility and advertising effectiveness, such as the Unica Vision in Shinjuku (Tokyo), one of the most visible locations in Tokyo, the Hokkaido Susukino Crossing Vision in Sapporo, the Hotchobori C-Vision in Hiroshima, famous for celebrity events, and the five large screens at the Links Umeda shopping mall in Osaka. A total of 24 screens in Nagoya will also broadcast the celebration video.

Japanese fans show support for V with special events every year on his birthday. For example, they organized an Ad Cruise for V’s birthday for two consecutive years in Osaka, on the Dotonbori River, an event that attracted major attention in Japan. Every year, Japanese media covers his birthday. In 2024, the variety program Tokoro-shi Jiken desu! on NHK, Japan’s national public broadcasting channel, even sent a crew to Seoul to cover V’s birthday.
In 2021, MTV Japan organized a special broadcast to celebrate V’s birthday, and TV Tokyo reported on the significant economic impact K-pop has, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, by highlighting V’s birthday events in their news program WBS. In 2022, Japan’s private broadcaster TBS featured V’s global birthday event, including Times Square ads in New York, in their program THE TIME.
