NEWJEANS member DANIELLE recently appeared alongside her agency ADOR at a brand event.
On June 18, DANIELLE attended the “Omega Aqua Terra 30mm Launch Global Event” in Kyoto, Japan, hosted by Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega for the release of a new product.
That day, DANIELLE was accompanied by staff from her agency ADOR, drawing significant attention, especially given the ongoing legal dispute between NEWJEANS and ADOR.
Just one day earlier, on June 17, Seoul High Court’s Civil Division 25-2 (Presiding Judges: Hwang Byung-ha, Jung Jong-kwan, Lee Kyun-yong) rejected an appeal filed by the five members of NEWJEANS. The appeal challenged a prior injunction that prevented ADOR from retaining its status as their agency and from signing advertisement deals on their behalf.
DANIELLE’s official appearance came immediately after the court’s rejection. ADOR explained that DANIELLE was simply fulfilling a prior commitment as Omega’s brand ambassador, adding that NEWJEANS has always been accompanied by ADOR staff for promotional activities.
Despite the conflict, NEWJEANS is reportedly aiming to follow through with previously scheduled engagements, as the members themselves have stated.
To recap, NEWJEANS held an emergency press conference last November, publicly declaring a loss of trust in ADOR and its parent company HYBE, and announcing the termination of their contract. Since then, the group has adopted a new name, “NJZ,” and has continued independent activities, including maintaining social media presence and performing overseas.
In response, ADOR filed a legal complaint seeking to validate its exclusive contract with the group and requested an injunction to maintain its agency status and block NEWJEANS from signing endorsement deals elsewhere. In March, the court ruled in favor of ADOR, upholding the agency’s claims.
NEWJEANS appealed the decision, but the court again ruled in favor of ADOR. The agency later expressed hope that the ruling would encourage the members to return under the name “NEWJEANS” and continue their promotions.
In this context, with the court having rejected NEWJEANS’s appeal, DANIELLE’s presence at the event alongside ADOR staff drew widespread attention. With their independent activities currently stalled, NEWJEANS has not yet commented on the June 17 court ruling — and fans are closely watching to see what the group’s next move will be.
