160 boys have begun their journey to shine on one grand stage. Mnet’s massive global boy group project, “Boys II Planet”, has officially launched, opening a brand-new chapter in the K-pop universe.

“Boys II Planet” is a global survival show that follows the dreams of young boys aiming to reach the top of the K-pop world. Contestants from two fictional planets — K Planet and C Planet — come together in one world called “Boys II Planet”, journeying toward the “sun” under the guidance of Star Creators (viewers), placing fans at the heart of the show. More than a simple competition, the program unfolds a rich storyline of growth within a fictional universe.
What sets this season apart is its unprecedented scale, featuring 160 participants — the largest number to date. Going far beyond a typical audition show, Boys II Planet showcases the evolving K-pop universe with a wide variety of talents and personalities, generating major buzz even before its premiere.
The contestants are split into two groups: “Boys II Planet K” and “Boys II Planet C”, each highlighting different charms and star potential — and teasing explosive synergy when they unite on stage. Out of the 160, 80 finalists will move forward into the main show, where they’ll compete for their ultimate goal: an official debut.
A key feature of the program is the Star Creator system, which puts fan participation at the core. Viewers from around the world will decide the fate of the contestants, strengthening the show’s identity as a truly interactive K-pop project.
Meanwhile, the full performance of the signal song “Hola Solar”, which marked the contestants’ first official stage, is now available for replay on Mnet Plus, receiving a warm response from global fans.
“Boys II Planet” will premiere in two parts: the “K” episode on Thursday, July 17 at 9:20 PM KST, followed by the “C” episode on Friday, July 18 at the same time.
