LIM SEUL ONG
2AM member LIM SEUL ONG is making his solo return after 8 years.

On July 9, LIM SEUL ONG announced on his social media the upcoming release of his mini-album “RAINBOW LIGHT”, along with several photos, stating:
“This is an album coming out after 8 years. I put a lot of thought into it and prepared it carefully.”
His solo comeback had previously been revealed exclusively by media outlet The Fact ([Exclusive] 2AM’s Lim Seul Ong to release solo album after 8 years).
This album marks his first new release since the 2017 digital single “너의 바다 (Your Sea)”, which came out before his military enlistment, signaling a return after 8 years. The album draws on imagery of rain and rainbows to express a sense of nostalgic emotion, and it includes four tracks in various styles, all centered around LIM SEUL ONG’s signature soft vocals.
The title track “Rainbow light” is a love song that combines a catchy bassline with a repetitive melody, capturing both the thrill and melancholy of love, like a rainbow that appears after the rain. The second track, “Mist,” is a cinematic pop song built around grand piano and string orchestration. LIM SEUL ONG participated in writing the lyrics, conveying the deep and quiet emotions of a breakup.
The song “Image,” in the modern rock genre, was specially written and composed by fellow 2AM member Jung Jin Woon for LIM SEUL ONG’s solo project. It portrays the complexities of love through the subtle contrast between powerful guitar riffs and delicate piano.
The final track, an English version of “Rainbow light,” offers an alluring new side that differs from the Korean version, especially aimed at international fans.
LIM SEUL ONG debuted with 2AM in 2008 and has expanded his musical range through numerous collaborations and soundtrack contributions. This solo mini-album reflects his years of experience and introspection, presenting a fresh musical color that differs from his group activities.
LIM SEUL ONG’s mini-album “RAINBOW LIGHT” is now available for pre-order on major platforms and will be officially released on July 15.
