LEE SOO YEON, an artist from the renowned trot agency Totalset, has captured the public’s heart with her bright and bubbly charm.

On July 12, she appeared on KBS2’s “Immortal Songs”, in a special episode honoring the late Hyun Chul and Song Dae Kwan. During her previous appearance last year, she moved audiences with her performance of “내 이름 아시죠”, winning that episode and surpassing 5 million views online, earning her recognition as a master of emotion despite her young age.
Recently, she made headlines by singing the South Korean national anthem a cappella at a baseball stadium. She recalled:
“It was such an honor to sing our proud national anthem in front of such a large audience for the first time. At first, the crowd didn’t know me very well, but as I kept singing, the cheers grew louder. People thought I was really cute.”
That day, closing the first half of Immortal Songs, LEE SOO YEON shared:
“Today, I prepared a dance performance to change up my image. Until now, I’ve mostly sung emotional ballads on Immortal Songs, and fans have told me they’d love to see a different side of me, so I wanted to try something new.”
She chose the song “봉선화 연정” by the late Hyun Chul.
On stage, LEE SOO YEON exuded radiant, flower-like charm, captivating the audience with her graceful and upbeat vocals. She surprised everyone with a mid-song dance break, delivering a vibrant and energetic performance that stood in sharp contrast to her usual image as a sentimental ballad singer.
Singer Lee Ji Hoon praised her performance, saying:
“To dance flawlessly while singing a fast-paced song—that’s truly the work of a prodigy.”
Jin Hae Sung added: “It’s amazing that she’s only 11. I have a strong feeling she’s going to become a truly great singer.”
Enoch also shared his admiration:
“Her skill speaks for itself, but what really stands out is how perfectly she conveys emotion.”
