The fifth wave of the “2025 K World Dream Awards” lineup has been announced, and with the addition of singers PAUL KIM and KANG DANIEL, the competition for the popularity award is heating up.
The organizing committee of the “2025 K World Dream Awards” recently revealed the fifth set of performing artists, including PAUL KIM and KANG DANIEL.
PAUL KIM debuted in 2014 with the single “커피 한 잔 할래요 (Would you like a cup of coffee?)”. He has established himself as one of K-pop’s signature singer-songwriters with mega-hits like “고막 남친” and “너를 만나”. Known for his frequent contributions to drama soundtracks, he’s often referred to as the “eardrum boyfriend.” This year, he once again received much love for his OST “내가 널 지켜줄게” from the drama “나의 완벽한 비서.”
KANG DANIEL rose to fame in 2017 by winning first place on season 2 of Mnet’s “Produce 101”, debuting shortly after with the project group WANNA ONE. Achieving explosive popularity, he quickly became a household name among K-pop fans worldwide. After the group disbanded, he successfully transitioned into a solo career and has continued to grow steadily. Last month, he gained attention with his new album “GLOW TO HAZE,” showcasing his dual talent as both performer and producer.
The 2025 K World Dream Awards will be held on August 21 at 6 PM (KST) at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa District, Seoul.
The event, which began in 2017 as the “Soribada Best K-Music Awards”, is celebrating its 9th edition this year. It is now the largest K-pop festival held in Seoul, the heart of Korean culture. Major K-pop figures and celebrities will gather to deliver a rich and varied spectacle.
Previously announced performers include BTOB, TXT (TOMORROW X TOGETHER), CRAVITY, TRIPLES, FIFTY FIFTY, NCT WISH, ILLIT, KICKFLIP, HEARTS2HEARTS, KIIIKIII, NEWBEAT, and AHOF.
Other confirmed acts such as bands LUCY, XDINARY HEROES, QWER, DRAGON PONY, and singers PARK SEOJIN and PARK JIHYUN are also generating major buzz among global fans.
Voting for the Popularity Award, which reflects 100% of the votes from international K-pop fans, is currently underway through the global fandom platform DUGAID. Winners will be chosen in four categories: Best Male Group, Best Female Group, Best Male Solo Artist, and Best Female Solo Artist.
After the preliminary round of voting closed on July 15, the Top 30 was selected. The final round of voting will continue until August 11, at which point the winners will be determined.
For K-pop fans unable to attend in person, the organizing committee has prepared a live broadcast: the event will be aired live on TBS in Japan, while fans outside Japan will be able to watch the live stream through HelloLive, a global streaming platform.
This event is organized by the “2025 K World Dream Awards” committee and produced by YJ Partners, the largest agency dedicated to the Hallyu (K-wave) movement. More detailed information about the ceremony will be released on the official website soon.
