The group SEVENTEEN will embark on a new world tour this September to reconnect with fans.
According to their agency, Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN will hold a concert titled “SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN INCHEON” on September 13 and 14 at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. The concert will also be streamed live online, allowing fans from around the world to tune in and enjoy the experience.
The title of the tour, “NEW_”, reflects the new challenge that SEVENTEEN is preparing to take on. The word “NEW” is followed by an underscore (_), symbolizing the group’s limitless potential. The poster, which shows the members walking freely down an open road, further emphasizes the beginning of another journey for SEVENTEEN.
On May 26, to celebrate their 10th anniversary, SEVENTEEN released its 5th full-length album, titled “HAPPY BURSTDAY,” marking a passionate rebirth. For the first time since their debut, each member recorded a solo track included in the album. The group also broadened its musical horizons through collaborations with legendary artists, including Pharrell Williams.
With this fifth album, SEVENTEEN achieved major success in both album sales and streaming, reinforcing their status as “the top K-pop group.” “HAPPY BURSTDAY” topped Circle Chart’s semi-annual album chart and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the main album chart in the United States. The title track “Thunder” also reached No. 1 on major music charts in South Korea, including Melon’s Top 100.
This new world tour is expected to showcase the true essence of SEVENTEEN as they are now, following their artistic rebirth, while reigniting the excitement of their 10th anniversary celebration.
