KIM GEON WOO
KIM GEON WOO, a trainee on “Boys 2 Planet”, apologizes for a controversy related to his behavior but refuses to leave the show.

KIM GEON WOO, a contestant on “Boys 2 Planet”, issued an apology regarding a controversy about his behavior while stating that he would not withdraw from the competition.
On July 21, he posted a letter of apology through Wake One’s official account, saying:
“I sincerely apologize, without any excuses, for my words and actions that may have hurt and caused pain to many people, as mentioned in the posts that sparked the controversy.”
He also added:
“Although some parts of these posts are exaggerated or false, after much thought, I concluded that it is more appropriate to sincerely apologize for my wrongdoings rather than try to deny the facts.”
On July 17, the day the first episode of Boys Planet 2 aired on Mnet, an online post was published revealing accusations about KIM GEON WOO’s past. The author claimed that he had received favoritism from certain employees at his agency and had used this to bully other trainees. The agency was also accused of turning a blind eye to these actions.
Among the more specific accusations was a claim from someone saying they had to receive psychiatric treatment because of KIM GEON WOO, supported by medical documents.
Regarding this, Mnet cautiously stated:
“We are currently verifying the facts through the individuals mentioned in the posts as well as related parties. We are also carefully reviewing whether there are any legal issues involved.”
The controversy did not stop there. It was revealed that KIM GEON WOO and KANG WOO JIN, both introduced as independent trainees on the show, were in fact trainees under the agency Wake One.

Since the first episode aired, suspicions had grown that both contestants were affiliated with Wake One, and criticism emerged accusing Mnet of favoring the agency, which is a subsidiary of CJ ENM.
On July 21, Wake One released a statement on its official website, declaring:
“In response to online posts concerning our agency and trainees, we want to clarify the facts. KIM GEON WOO and KANG WOO JIN, who are participating in Boys Planet 2 as independents, are in fact trainees under Wake One.”
The agency continued:
“We sincerely apologize to the production team, viewers, and fans for the confusion and concern caused.” They also announced that their trainee contracts with KIM GEON WOO and KANG WOO JIN would be terminated by mutual agreement.
Regarding the accusations against KIM GEON WOO, the agency added:
“Although the contract has now been terminated, we intend to actively respond to any false information in the allegations against him.”
Thus, even though his contract with Wake One has been canceled, the statement regarding the controversy around KIM GEON WOO was made through the agency.
KIM GEON WOO had gained attention from the very first episode as the center of Planet K. However, he quickly became embroiled in multiple controversies, becoming one of the first contestants to issue an apology before the second episode even aired.
