WENDY
Singer WENDY is set to make her musical comeback this September.
Her new agency, ASCD, announced on July 24:
“WENDY will be making her comeback sometime in September. She’s currently working hard in preparation for this highly anticipated return as a solo artist after a long break, so we ask for lots of support and attention.”
This upcoming release marks her first musical project in about a year and six months, following the release of her second mini-album, “WISH YOU HELL”, in March 2023. It will also be her first official release since signing an exclusive contract with ASND, raising fans’ expectations even higher.
When “WISH YOU HELL” was released, WENDY achieved notable global success, topping the iTunes Top Albums chart in 21 countries and QQ Music’s digital album sales chart in China. She aims to build on that momentum and further solidify her position as a solo artist.
In the meantime, WENDY has showcased her versatility across various fields, from variety shows to radio. On KBS2’s music variety show “Bangpan Music: Wherever You Go“, she was praised for her consistently stable live performances. On YouTube, through her personal show “오늘은 웬디 (Today’s Wendy)”, she also demonstrated her strong hosting skills.
For context, WENDY debuted in 2014 as a member of RED VELVET, a group that has delivered numerous hit songs including “Ice cream cake,” “Red flavor” (빨간 맛), “Psycho,” and “Cosmic,” maintaining steady popularity with the public for over a decade.
