YAN AN, member of PENTAGON, is temporarily suspending his activities due to health reasons.
YAN AN revealed to fans that a benign tumor had been found in his head and that he is scheduled to undergo surgery this coming August.
According to a July 23 (local time) article by Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday, YAN AN took time to speak with his fans during a livestream broadcast on July 22. During the stream, he explained that he was currently unable to participate in drama filming due to health issues.
He candidly shared that he had developed a benign tumor in his head, something he has been dealing with for a while now. He added that he should have had surgery earlier, but couldn’t find the right time due to his schedule, including drama shoots and other commitments.
Recently, YAN AN’s condition worsened. He stated:
“Lately, the tumor suddenly grew larger, causing swelling and pain, which ultimately led me to make the decision to have surgery.”

As a result, YAN AN announced that he would shave his head and undergo surgery in August. He plans to take a few weeks off to rest following the procedure.
He also made sure to reassure his worried fans by saying:
“It’s not a serious illness, so I hope you won’t worry too much.”
As a reminder, YAN AN is a Chinese singer and actor who debuted in 2016 as a member of the K-pop group PENTAGON. After his exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment expired in 2023, he has been active in China as an actor.
