The Jesus Morning Star (JMS) religious group, also known as the Christian Gospel Mission, has filed an injunction request to block the release of Season 2 of Netflix’s original documentary series “나는 신이다 (I am god)“.

On August 5, a Netflix representative commented on the upcoming release of Season 2, titled “나는 생존자다 (I am a survivor)”:
This series, which will premiere on August 15, is a follow-up to “나는 신이다” (I am god)“, a 2023 documentary that stirred major public reaction by exposing the reality of religious cults in South Korea. The new season will shed light on four shocking cases that have deeply impacted the country.
Season 2 will cover recent developments in the case of Maple, a victim who accused Jung Myung Seok, the leader of JMS, of sexual assault, an issue that was already featured in the first season. It will also highlight the stories of other survivors.
However, JMS had previously filed a legal injunction to stop the broadcast of “나는 신이다 (I am god)“ during its first season. The court ultimately dismissed the request, ruling that the production served the public interest by raising awareness and helping prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
