CORTIS
BigHit Music’s young creator crew, CORTIS, shared behind-the-scenes stories of co-creating their music video.

On August 27 at 9 PM KST, CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho) uploaded a commentary video on its official YouTube channel for the title track of their debut album, “What you want”, discussing both the official music video and the original version made by the members themselves.
The five members explained that they planned, filmed, and edited their original video themselves. They described the concept: “If someone keeps asking ‘What you want,’ it can feel pressuring. We wanted to capture the feeling of breaking free from that, so we used the idea of a ‘dream’ escaping daily life.”
They shared their collaborative process:
“We throw everything in, even ideas that seem impossible, then discuss and organize together. During filming, we don’t divide roles; everyone participates, expressing what they feel without strict framing, following our instincts.”
About their self-made video becoming the base for the official MV, they said: “We didn’t expect a video made just for fun to become official. The dream concept and original video elements are well represented. The official video was shot in the desert to convey the sense of ‘pressure’ from the original version.”
They added: “Compare the two videos, it’s more fun. The story unfolds like a mind map. Understanding the connection makes watching twice as enjoyable.”
CORTIS showcases their talent as a young creator crew, co-creating music, choreography, and visuals. Their debut album, “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES”, drops September 8, marking the first step of the five members in discovering what they truly want, beyond what others might hand them.
