YOO SEUNG JUN
Singer YOO SEUNG JUN (Steve Yoo) will learn today (28) the outcome of his third legal battle to obtain a visa allowing him to enter South Korea.

The 5th Division of the Seoul Administrative Court (presided over by Judge Lee Jeong-won) will hold a ruling session this afternoon for two cases: one filed by YOO SEUNG JUN against the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles seeking to overturn its refusal to issue him a visa, and another challenging the validity of the Justice Ministry’s entry ban against him.
YOO SEUNG JUN left South Korea in 2002, just before his mandatory military service, and later acquired U.S. citizenship, sparking widespread controversy over draft evasion. As a result, the Ministry of Justice imposed an entry ban on him after he renounced his South Korean citizenship.
In 2015, YOO SEUNG JUN applied for a visa at the Los Angeles Consulate General as an overseas Korean but was denied.
He then filed his first lawsuit to have the refusal overturned and won, but the consulate again refused to issue him a visa. In 2020, YOO SEUNG JUN launched a second legal action, which he also won. Nevertheless, citing the 2002 Justice Ministry decision, the consulate continued to deny him a visa. YOO SEUNG JUN is now engaged in his third legal battle.
