CONTEMPODIVO
Emotional crossover group CONTEMPODIVO is set to release its new track “MR Gandaragan” on September 4.

The song paints an imaginative scenario where a prehistoric man, once painting on the cave walls of Altamira, steps into the brightly lit streets of a modern-day city. It delivers a timeless message of comfort and hope.
The main character, “Gandaragan”, enters the modern world saying he’s come “to see this good world,” leaving behind the torchlight of 15,000 B.C. to walk among neon signs. As he experiences modern civilization, clean tap water, warm homes, refrigerators, washing machines, and the internet in the palm of his hand, he leaves behind a simple yet powerful message:
“I’m heading quickly into this good world. Live with a smile.”
The song unfolds like a musical narrative. In the first verse, the cave paintings of bison and deer seem to come alive and dance. In the second, operatic harmonies blend with the ding of a microwave. Call-and-response shouts of “Woo-ah ya!” and a catchy, easy-to-sing chorus, “Gandara, Gandara, Gandaragan”, immediately draw listeners in. This chant holds a gentle message:
“Only when the darkness falls do the stars appear. And tomorrow, the sun will rise again.”
Made up of four classically trained vocalists, male popera group CONTEMPODIVO supports this storytelling with a grand vocal harmony, while keeping the chorus accessible to a wide audience. The lyrics were written by Jang Yeon-seon, the song was composed by DJ Chul-i and Song Kwangho, and arranged by FERRY.
“MR Gandaragan” begins in a cave and expands to stages, radio shows, and even street choirs, delivering a warm sense of comfort to listeners. The song ends with a cheerful rhythm of “chan-chara chan-cha chan-chan” as Gandaragan waves goodbye and says:
“Well then, see you tomorrow!”
With this new release, CONTEMPODIVO hopes to continue connecting with audiences by sharing the message that even in the small moments of everyday life, there is always hope to be found.
