On September 3, Pledis Entertainment announced that SEVENTEEN’s new special sub-unit, S.COUPS×MINGYU, will release their first album on September 29.
S.COUPS×MINGYU is a unit formed by SEVENTEEN members S.COUPS and MINGYU. In the teaser video, released at midnight KST across various online platforms, the two are seen enjoying a beach party in Los Angeles, California.
The teaser also features two 3D characters, Kutte and Mante. According to the agency, they are described as “alien beings who have come to Earth to recharge their energy through music.”
The unit’s debut project will be a mini-album titled “HYPE VIBES.” According to the agency, the title expresses “a vibrant and free-spirited atmosphere where anyone can connect and have fun together,” and reflects “S.COUPS and MINGYU’s attitude of living in the moment, following their own rhythm without being confined by set rules.”
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN has recently been nominated for “Best Group” at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. The group is set to kick off its new world tour, “NEW_,” with opening shows on September 13 and 14 at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium.
