The letter written from prison by singer KIM HO JOONG has been made public.

Recently, the president of the “PINE TREE PARTY”, Song Young Gil, shared on his social media the handwritten letter sent by KIM HO JOONG.
In his post, President Song said, “Our situations were different, but the conversations and small gestures exchanged during difficult times were a great comfort.”
In the letter, KIM HO JOONG writes, “Everything is my fault, and I am learning humility here,” adding, “I won’t make the same mistakes like David again. I have rediscovered why I need to be on stage and why I need to sing.”
He continues, “Although my body is confined, I spend my time repenting and feel grateful for every moment I am alive.”

President Song commented, “The face of KIM HO JOONG that I saw at Yeoju Somang Prison was particularly clear,” adding, “His genuine remorse and desire for a fresh start deserve respect.”
Additionally, KIM HO JOONG was tried last year for crossing the center line and hitting a taxi while driving under the influence in the Gangnam district of Seoul, before fleeing the scene. With added charges of driver substitution, he was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison. KIM HO JOONG is currently serving his sentence at the private Yeoju Somang Prison and is expected to be released in November 2026.
