The music audition program VEILED MUSICIAN will be broadcast for the first time on November 12 on the OTT platform Netflix, announced JX on October 29.
“VEILED MUSICIAN” is a vocal competition where appearance, age, region, and educational background are hidden, and participants are judged solely on their voice and musicality. It is a large-scale project taking place across multiple Asian countries: after selecting the top three candidates from each country, they gather in Korea, the “cradle of K-pop,” for the “Veiled Cup”, which determines the best singer in Asia.
The executive producer of the program, LEE HONGHEE PD, said: “I realize that there are really many people who sing well in this world. I put my whole heart into conveying this emotion and what I feel to the viewers.” He added: “This season is limited to Asia, but in the future, we want to expand the stage to Europe, South America, the Americas, and Africa to find the best singer in the world. We put this aspiration into the title “Veiled Cup”.”
The program is planned by Kanverse, produced by SBS Prism Studio, and Spotify is the official partner. The host is KANG DANIEL, and the jury includes PAUL KIM, AILEE, SHIN YONGJAE, KIHYUN of MONSTA X, BOLBBALGAN4, and BELLE of KISS OF LIFE.
The “Veiled Cup” version will also be broadcast on SBS next January. The jury for this version will include TIFFANY YOUNG, 10CM, AILEE, PAUL KIM, HENRY, and MIYEON of I-DLE.
