The number one fan platform, WEVERSE, is accelerating its expansion in China by introducing both an individual communication service and an e-commerce service.

According to the music industry on November 10, WEVERSE opened a “WEVERSE SHOP FLAGSHIP STORE” on Tmall, China’s largest e-commerce platform, last June.
Tmall, operated by the Alibaba group, offers in this “WEVERSE SHOP FLAGSHIP STORE” the merchandise and light sticks of 17 artists registered on WEVERSE.
The “WEVERSE SHOP” was also named “NEW STAR BRAND 2025” at the Tmall Awards ceremony held on November 6 during the China International Import Expo.
The “NEW STAR BRAND” award is given by Tmall to foreign stores that stand out for their revenue, number of transactions, sales speed, growth rate, platform visibility, social media mentions, number of followers, brand reputation, product ratings and reviews, and repurchase rate. WEVERSE SHOP received this distinction only five months after opening its flagship store.
Currently, Chinese fans can also purchase products through the WEVERSE mobile app and the PC website.
WEVERSE’s strategy is to increase accessibility by establishing itself on popular Chinese e-commerce platforms in a “Shop in Shop” format.
According to the “FAN-DOME TRENDS” report published earlier this year by WEVERSE, China was among the top three foreign countries purchasing the most K-pop products last year, with the highest year-on-year sales growth.
In this context, and following the recent Korea-China summit raising hopes for a relaxation of restrictions on Hallyu (“Han-Hallyu ban”), WEVERSE is quickly positioning itself to tap into the Chinese market, where K-pop enjoys great popularity.
Moreover, on November 6, WEVERSE announced the integration of the individual communication feature “Weverse DM” on China’s largest music platform, QQ Music.
A representative of WEVERSE COMPANY stated: “Among the different services offered by WEVERSE, we are now able to provide Chinese fans with our flagship communication service (Weverse DM) and commerce service (WEVERSE SHOP) in partnership with influential local players. We will continue to create new opportunities for fans around the world to access WEVERSE more easily.”
Additionally, HYBE, the parent company of WEVERSE, established a local subsidiary, HYBE CHINA, in Beijing last May to prepare for the reopening of the Chinese market. The declared goal of this subsidiary is to support the activities of HYBE artists in China.
