The band DAY6 (Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, Dowoon) presents a Christmas song for the holidays.
According to the music verification result published on December 3 on the official KBS website, DAY6 will release their new track “Lovin’ the Christmas”. The song has been approved for broadcast by KBS.
The composition was created by the group leader SUNGJIN, members YOUNG K, WONPIL, as well as producer Hong Jisang, considered the fifth member of DAY6. YOUNG K appears in the credits not only as a composer but also as the sole lyricist.
Thus, WONPIL has once again confirmed his role as the “spoiler fairy”. Previously, during the live broadcast celebrating DAY6’s 10th anniversary on September 7, he stated “I don’t like Christmas. But recently, I started to like it again”, exciting fans for the release of this Christmas song unique to DAY6.
It is also possible that this song will be presented for the first time during a concert. DAY6 will hold their solo concert from December 19 to 21 at the KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu Olympic Park, Seoul (formerly Olympic Gymnasium). Concerts with full 360° seating were announced, and all three performances sold out in record time.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of DAY6’s career. To celebrate this event, on September 5, the group released its fourth studio album “THE DECADE”, including the double title tracks “꿈의 버스” and “Iinside out”, as well as 10 tracks that ranked high on the TOP 100 of Melon, achieving widespread popular success. DAY6 not only confirmed their power on streaming platforms but also reached a record in physical sales, marking a brilliant milestone for its 10th anniversary.
DAY6 launched the 10th anniversary commemorative tour “THE DECADE” on August 30 and 31 at Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang, Gyeonggi. It is the first time in the history of Korean popular music that a rock band performed in a stadium. The group then completed the tour concerts in Bangkok on September 27 and Ho Chi Minh on October 18.
