XG - COCONA
COCONA from the group XG shared a meaningful confession on the occasion of turning twenty.

On December 6, COCONA revealed on XG’s official social media that they are “AFAB Transmasculine non-binary.” This refers to a person assigned female at birth who does not identify solely as a woman and whose identity leans more toward masculinity or lies somewhere within that spectrum.
In the text posted, COCONA explained the reason for this confession:
“As I reach the significant turning point of turning twenty, I wanted to share even just a little of the thoughts I’ve kept deep inside me. I am AFAB transmasculine non-binary. I had a mastectomy this year. The hardest thing in my life has been accepting and recognizing myself. Now that I’ve been able to accept myself even just a tiny bit and move forward even by 0.1 of a step, I’ve been able to open a new door.”
In the photos posted along with the text, COCONA poses bare-chested under a black jacket, holding a flower. Between the sides of the jacket, the scar left by the mastectomy can be seen.

To conclude, COCONA stated: “I hope this message can become a small light for someone. And I hope it reaches everyone who needs my love,” delivering a meaningful message filled with courage. COCONA also expressed deep gratitude toward the members of the group, general producer JAKOPS (Simon Junho Park), and their parents, stating that the process of self-acceptance brought them great growth.
The general producer of XG and CEO of XGALX, JAKOPS, wrote on his personal social media: “Today, as COCONA found the courage to share their heart with the world, I am filled with genuine emotion and deep respect,” adding: “I will continue to offer sincere support so that each person can be not only an active artist but also a respected human being who can love their own life.”
He continued: “I am extremely proud of the brilliant music and visuals that XG creates, but what I want most to share with the world are the pure and essential hearts the members possess. Their true energy, their love, and their growth as human beings are the ‘core’ of XG and XGALX.” By sharing a photo taken with the members to celebrate reaching adulthood this year—taken for Coming-of-Age Day—he illustrated the special and precious relationship between the artists and the producer.

COCONA’s confession has once again strengthened XG’s core identity built on “courage, love, and hope,” and raises anticipation for messages and performances that will continue to transcend boundaries and evolve.
