The group BTS is preparing for a full comeback next spring, while RM, the leader, revealed that he went through a period of reflection regarding the group’s direction.
On December 6, during a Weverse Live, RM said:
“I thought tens of thousands of times about what would be best to do: disband or put the group on pause,” before adding: “If we continue this group, it’s because we have a lot of love for each other, and also out of love and respect for you who are watching this live.”
BTS, after JIN and J-HOPE last year, sees this year RM, V, JUNGKOOK, JIMIN, SUGA complete their mandatory military service and prepare for their comeback.
Regarding the choice to return next year and not this year, RM stated:
“I also, after my discharge, would have liked to do many activities, but there are things I cannot say. We also want to do it. Our last concert was in October 2022, it’s been over three years. I want to get on stage immediately.”
He continued: “We need a little preparation. Just preparing is frustrating, it’s true,” adding: “We wanted to do activities, but there was a reason why we couldn’t. There was also a reason why we decided not to do activities in the second half, but I am not allowed to talk about it.”
RM also stated: “We will continue to practice and film in December. The comeback is near. I am really sorry for making you wait so long,” before adding: “We will come back without a doubt. We will do our best.”
RM also said:
“If one only lives a past life constantly in front of the camera, without truly living, what scent could that person’s song have? One must first be a human being to create good content. That’s how a person’s individuality can reach the audience,” adding: “Artists who sing are full of flaws and imperfections, but I believe our clumsy side and everything else will contribute to what we create.”
He also shared news about the new album planned for next spring. RM said: “The album is almost finished, and we practiced all together again yesterday. We are shooting content, and we practice every day,” before concluding: “We will show it to you after preparing it properly.”
