SHINHWA member LEE MINWOO welcomed a daughter on December 8.
On December 9, LEE MINWOO announced the birth on his Instagram, stating: “We have met our precious child in good health.”
He continued: “Being by her side during the pregnancy and delivery, I feel how great a chance it is, and I realize once again that being a parent to a child is truly not an easy thing.” He added: “First, I want to say thank you and express my respect to my wife who has really gone through so much pain.”
LEE MINWOO stated: “And as Lee Minwoo of SHINHWA and as the head of the family, I must continue to do my best, I promise myself once again.” Then: “Thank you to everyone who congratulated the birth. Let’s be happy, the four of us! Nice to meet you, Yangyang (pregnancy name).”
LEE MINWOO’s wife gave birth the day before in the afternoon to a healthy daughter, and it is reported that both mother and child are doing well.
LEE MINWOO met his wife in 2013 at a friends’ gathering, and after meeting again long afterward, their relationship evolved into a romantic one. His wife is a third-generation Korean living in Japan and had a daughter from her previous marriage, making LEE MINWOO the father of two daughters.
Last August, on the show “살림하는 남자들 시즌2” on KBS 2TV, LEE MINWOO revealed that he had decided on the pregnancy name “Yangyang” after a child was conceived during a trip to Yangyang.
He recounted: “We first met in January 2013 at a friends’ gathering,” reminiscing about his first meeting with his future wife. He added: “When we met again long afterward, I realized she had also gone through difficult times. She had a daughter, and she had divorced.”
He then confessed: “In fact, she is not alone. She is carrying a child.” During the episode aired on the 6th, he also stated: “For the child who will be born soon, I strengthened my physical condition, and I quit smoking,” showing his preparation to become a father.
His wife also stated: “My husband really takes good care of me,” and: “When I am hungry in the middle of the night, he makes me anything,” expressing her affection for LEE MINWOO.
The couple will celebrate their wedding next spring.
Debuting in 1998 with SHINHWA, LEE MINWOO received much love thanks to songs such as “Brand new” and “Perfect man”. More recently, he has also pursued activities as a painter and held his first solo exhibition “PURISM”. Through “살림하는 남자들 시즌2”, he shared with the public his process of preparing for marriage and the birth.
