Singer RAIN apologized regarding an incident at his concert in Taiwan, where he asked a fan to dance without realizing she had a hearing disability.

According to an article published on January 23 (local time) by the foreign media The Independent, RAIN singled out a fan on the 17th during his “Still Raining Encore” tour concert held at the Taipei Arena in Taiwan, while trying to encourage audience participation.
RAIN asked in Korean the fan, who was only filming the stage with her phone without dancing, “Why aren’t you dancing?”, which was then translated into Chinese by the interpreter.
The fan then indicated her hearing disability by covering her ears before resuming her recording. However, RAIN, not understanding the meaning of her gesture, continued to encourage her to dance and carried on with the concert.
The fan, using the pseudonym “chichi,” recounted the situation on her social media on the 19th, two days after the concert, identifying RAIN. She stated that she “could not understand what RAIN and the interpreter were saying, and misinterpreted the ‘up up’ gesture as an invitation to sing louder rather than dance,” adding that “RAIN tapped his foot asking her to try again. In hindsight, she should have explained in sign language. She feared being seen as a fan who did not obey.”
Subsequently, RAIN left a comment of apology in Chinese under the post. He said, “I am sorry for not knowing that you could not hear,” and added, “I was not attentive enough and lacked discernment.” He also affirmed, “I will pay special attention at all my future concerts following this event.”
Finally, in reaction to the fact that the fan revealed that the day of the concert was also her birthday, RAIN left a message saying, “Thank you for coming to the concert.”
