J-HOPE
The member of the group BTS, J-HOPE, donated a total of 300 million won (approximately 176,000 euros) to his alma mater and to a hospital on the occasion of his birthday.

According to Asan Medical Center on the 18th, J-HOPE donated 200 million won that day for the development of the children’s hospital. Asan Medical Center plans to use J-HOPE’s support for medical facilities for pediatric and adolescent patients, improvement of the medical environment, home care for severely ill pediatric patients, and the operation of psychological healing programs.
J-HOPE stated:
“I continue my donations with the wish to give back to the “ARMY”, who always sends me great support. I am grateful to be able to practice meaningful sharing again this year on my birthday after last year. I sincerely hope that children can overcome pain and dream of bright tomorrows.”
J-HOPE had also donated the same amount to Asan Medical Center for his birthday last year. By adding the 100 million won donated in 2022, the cumulative total of donations to Asan Medical Center reaches 500 million won.
J-HOPE also donated 100 million won on the same day to the child protection organization ChildFund Korea. This support will be allocated in the form of scholarships to students of his alma mater, Gwangju International High School, as well as to students of Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School located in the same region.
Thanks to this donation, J-HOPE was registered as the 14th member of the major donors club “GREEN NOBLE TRINITY CLUB” of ChildFund Korea.. This club is a group of donors whose cumulative total contributions exceed 1 billion won. Since 2018, J-HOPE has continued his donations through ChildFund Korea, notably for the treatment costs of sick children and support for children from families in crisis related to COVID-19.
The group BTS, to which J-HOPE belongs, will make its comeback on the 20th of next month with the fifth studio album “ARIRANG”. The day after the comeback, on the 21st, they will hold the concert “BTS Comeback live : Arirang” at Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul. The concert will be broadcast live exclusively on Netflix.
