KNK - LEE DONG WON
Member LEE DONGWON of KNK has said goodbye to the fans.
LEE DONGWON stated on March 7 in a handwritten letter:
“I will now end my activities as a member of KNK after 7 years of activities.”
That day, LEE DONGWON expressed his gratitude, saying: “After long discussions with the agency, our directions being a bit different, I came to make this decision. It is true that there have been many difficult periods since our debut” and “Despite that, if I have been able to hold on until now, it is thanks to the members who went through these moments with me and to Tinkerbell who always supports and waits for us unchanged.”
However, LEE DONGWON stated: “With the passing of time and as I grow older, I have faced many inevitable realistic problems” and “After very long and difficult reflections, I decided to leave the group.”
At the same time, LEE DONGWON greeted fans by saying: “I will now try to continue my activities as an actor in a new place” and “I was truly happy to become KNK and to meet Tinkerbell, and I am sincerely grateful from that moment 7 years ago when you warmly welcomed and supported a previously unknown new member who joined suddenly up until today.”
KNK is a five-member group that debuted in 2016. Subsequently, members KIM YOUJIN, PARK SEOHAM, and OH HEEJUN left the group successively, and LEE DONGWON joined in 2018, followed by KIM HYUNJONG in 2023, continuing activities as a four-member group.
Below is the full handwritten letter from LEE DONGWON.
“Hello, this is Dongwon.
Before the article comes out, I wanted to first tell the Tinkerbells, which is why I am writing this message.
You will surely be very surprised, but I will now end my activities as a member of KNK after 7 years of activities.
After long discussions with the agency, our directions being a bit different, I came to make this decision. It is true that there have been many difficult periods since our debut.
Despite that, if I have been able to hold on until now, it is thanks to the members who went through these moments with me and to the Tinkerbells who always support and wait for us unchanged.
But with the passing of time and as I grow older, I have faced many inevitable realistic problems.
Thus, after very long and difficult reflections, I decided to leave the group.
I will now try to continue my activities as an actor in a new place.
I have received so far and still receive from you love far too great for me, but I am sorry I could not fully respond to this support and love.
I was truly happy to become KNK and to meet the Tinkerbells, and from that moment 7 years ago when you warmly welcomed and supported a previously unknown new member who joined suddenly up until today, I am sincerely grateful.
I will never forget the past memories with you and the love I have received, and I will try to start a new chapter elsewhere keeping them all my life.
I will now sincerely support from afar the happiness of the members and the Tinkerbells.
I would be grateful if you could also look at me kindly as I begin a new chapter.
