The animated film “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS” (2025) has added a new distinction to its already extensive collection of awards, winning the Oscar for Best Original Song for “Golden”, while also becoming the most-watched original film in the history of Netflix.

The film also won the award for Best Animated Feature at the “98th Academy Awards” this Sunday, highlighting its commercial success and growing cultural impact.
The other nominees released last year for Best Original Song were “Dear me” from the film “DIANE WARREN: RELENTLESS” (2024), “I lied to you“ from “SINNERS” (2025), “Train dreams” from “TRAIN DREAMS” (2025), and “Sweet dreams of joy“ from “VIVA VERDI!” (2024).

“KPOP DEMON HUNTERS” follows the fictional girl group HUNTR/X, whose members are also demon hunters facing their rival boy band, the SAJA BOYS.
« Growing up, people made fun of me because I liked K-pop, but now everyone is singing our songs and all the lyrics in Korean »,
stated the singer EJAE, who lends her voice to a member of HUNTR/X and performed during the ceremony. « I am so proud and I realize that the song for which this award is given is not about success, but about resilience. »

« And I am so grateful to our team, and I just want to thank my mother, my father, my brother, my manager for staying by my side, and I also want to thank, of course, the resilient cast of “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS”. »
