JEON JI YOON, a member of the group 4MINUTE, has become a web-novel author.
On March 13, JEON JI YOON appeared as a guest in a video titled “Réunion de ceux qui trouvent les web-romans plus amusants que les shorts (쇼츠보다 웹소가 재밌는 사람들 모임)”, published on the YouTube channel “찐들의 페이지 (PAGE DES VRAIS)”.
In the video, JEON JI YOON drew attention by being introduced as a web-novel author. She greeted the audience by saying: “I was active as a singer and I am now working as a web-novel author”. She added:
“I was keeping my activities as an author secret, so not many people know, but you contacted me. This is the first time I am participating in a show as a web-novel author”.
JEON JI YOON cited “SOLO LEVELING (나 혼자만 레벨업)” as the work that introduced her to the genre, while explaining what she considers to be the strength of web-novels: “It gives the pleasure of experience. Short formats give strong and fast stimulation, but when reading a web-novel, each person interprets differently, even the same sentence”.
She also revealed that she had already written fan fictions. JEON JI YOON stated: “A fan fiction is simply a novel. I wrote them and circulated them among classmates, and since they were all fans of that group, they liked them a lot”.
Regarding the occasion that pushed her to take on the challenge of becoming a web-novel author, she explained: “I simply liked reading them, then I asked myself: ‘What if I tried to write one?’ ”. She continued:
“Just at that moment, the government was offering a kind of academy for free, so I applied. I passed the interview, I was accepted, I became an excellence student, and from there, I signed an author contract and made my debut”.
Currently, JEON JI YOON continues her activities as an author under a pen name.
