The original webtoon from HYBE, SUMMER MOON: THE QUPRIDS (hereafter SUMMER MOON), in collaboration with ILLIT, will be published in six regions worldwide, including the United States and Japan.

HYBE announced that the SUMMER MOON webtoon will be translated into local languages for the United States, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia, and released via Naver’s Webtoon Global service on October 20 and 21 (local time). The United States, Taiwan, and Thailand will have the first release on October 20, while Japan and Indonesia will receive it on October 21. The French version will be available in November.
SUMMER MOON follows the wacky adventures of five ordinary high school girls who transform into “magical girls” as the Summer Moon Festival at their school approaches. This school fantasy series with a Kpop twist conveys ILLIT’s sincere and energetic message and features magical characters inspired by the members of the group, captivating both fans and webtoon readers from the start.

Since its launch in Korea on August 4, SUMMER MOON quickly achieved great success, ranking 2nd in the women’s category and 3rd overall in Naver Webtoon’s “Top 30 Trending” chart. It also ranked 4th in the women’s category and 5th overall in the “Real-Time New Series Ranking.” Due to international enthusiasm and numerous official translation requests, the simultaneous release in six regions was accelerated.

A representative from HYBE stated: “The enthusiastic reception from readers during the Korean launch was the driving force behind accelerating the global launch. We see that the experience of global readers with our previous series, such as Dark Moon, has generated expectations for SUMMER MOON. We will continue to leverage the synergy between our artists and storytelling, as well as our expertise in content expansion, to provide fans with complete entertainment experiences centered on our narrative intellectual properties.”
