With a clear and deeply expressive voice that instinctively conveys emotion, singer CHOI SUHWAN returns with “쉬운 이야기 (Easy Story)”, the soundtrack of the popular webtoon “The ugly wife of the duke of darkness” (흑막 공작의 못난이).
“쉬운 이야기 (Easy story)” is a ballad that depicts the emptiness and harsh reality a man feels when faced with an unexpected breakup. The song captures the heart breaking in front of a partner who speaks of the end of love with unsettling ease, set against lyrical lyrics and a dramatic melody.
This track came about when producer KINGMAKER, captivated by CHOI SUHWAN’s voice, personally offered him the opportunity to sing the OST. Sunlitbridge and Imaginary Composer also took part in the production, maximizing the warmth and delicacy unique to CHOI SUHWAN’s tone.
CHOI SUHWAN is an all-rounder vocalist who spans a wide range of genres,from K-pop to ballads to R&B, consistently proving his talent. In 2019, he appeared as an independent trainee on Mnet’s audition program “Produce X 101″, making it to the semifinals and leaving a strong impression. Later, on the vocal competition program “Build up“, he once again drew attention with outstanding performances in every round.
Actively pursuing his solo career, CHOI SUHWAN has released numerous songs since his debut, including “Starry night”, “New hero”, “Chance”, “Left on read”, “Losing sleep”, and “I’m fine”, expanding his musical spectrum. Most recently, his romantic R&B track “Stars take me”, an emotional song about stars carrying a loved one to a beautiful place, has been warmly received by fans both in Korea and abroad.
Meanwhile, the original webtoon “The ugly wife of the duke of darkness” is one of KakaoPage’s most popular titles of 2025. It tells the story of Grace, a duchess with a tarnished reputation, who struggles with depression and decides to divorce her husband. With its delicate psychological portrayals and deep storytelling, the series has earned strong support from readers.
“쉬운 이야기 (Easy story)” will be released on September 3, 2025, CHOI SUHWAN’s birthday. It will be a special fan song OST carrying a meaningful message for his fans, where his voice and emotions will shine even brighter, and is expected to receive much love. On September 7, he will also meet his fans in person at a concert and fan signing event at Club On Air in Hongdae.
