The group I.O.I has ramped up the anticipation for its comeback.
I.O.I presented on April 22 a “mood film” video for its third mini-album “I.O.I : LOOP“.
In the video, the members sport colorful outfits and reveal a vintage charm. Despite the short duration, the personality and unparalleled presence of each member are clearly highlighted, captivating gazes. Added to this is the announcement of the release date set for May 19 at 6 p.m. KST and the successive appearance of the members’ names in English, raising the excitement surrounding this comeback by a notch.
I.O.I is a project group formed in 2016 by public vote via “PRODUCE 101”, which established itself in a short time as the “girl group of the nation” by receiving immense love. This year, marking the 10th anniversary of its debut, the group continues to make headlines after announcing its reunion about 9 years after its separation. Last April 21, with the publication of the promotional schedule, the release date was confirmed for May 19, thus officially launching the countdown to the comeback.
Furthermore, alongside the release of this new album after 9 years, the group will reunite with its global fans by organizing the “2026 I.O.I CONCERT TOUR: LOOP”. This tour will begin with concerts in Seoul for three days starting May 29, before traveling through the main cities of Asia, notably Bangkok on June 6, then Hong Kong on June 20 and 21.
Between the release of the album and the Asian tour, the activities of I.O.I, prepared with even more generosity for this 10th anniversary, arouse growing expectation among fans who have been waiting for a long time.
LIM NA YOUNG, CHUNG HA, KIM SE JEONG, JUNG CHAE YEON, KIM SO HYE, YOO YEON JUNG, CHOI YOO JUNG, KIM DO YEON and JEON SOMI will participate in these 10th anniversary commemorative activities. KANG MI NA and ZHOU JIEQIONG (Kyulkyung) will be absent.
Furthermore, the third mini-album of I.O.I, “I.O.I : LOOP“, will be unveiled on May 19 at 6 p.m. KST on various online music sites, while a pre-release track will be revealed on May 4.
