The band LUCY is embarking on its first full-group comeback activities following the military discharge of member SHIN GWANG IL.
LUCY will release its second studio album “CHILDISH” on April 29 at 6 p.m. KST via domestic and international music sites. This is the first new work presented about 1 year and 8 months after the 5th mini-album “FROM.”, as well as the first full-group album published since the discharge of drummer SHIN GWANG IL last March.
This new work, which follows the 1st studio album singing about childhood, is announced as a record containing an even more improved musical color and sensitivity, attracting the attention of many music fans.
Among the B-side songs that have nothing to envy the title track, “전체관람가”, which took the place of the title track, is a piece written, composed, and arranged by member CHO WONSANG. The energetic band sound unique to LUCY and the hopeful lyrics captivate the ear. CHO WONSANG, who has served as the team’s producer since debut, compared to a “horn” the things that one loses one by one while facing the adult world, which is different from the world seen during childhood.
The unveiled music video contains the journey of the four members returning to “LUCY ISLAND” which marked the very first beginning of LUCY. Starting with their debut song “Flowering”, LUCY highlighted its brilliant musical traces of the last 6 years until becoming a major K-pop band.
This new work is composed of a total of 15 tracks. It includes 5 new songs including “발아”, which says that everyone who moves forward without losing their dreams despite the passing of time is a radiant youth, “카멜레온”, which questions the lost nature through the combination of various genre elements, “Porch light (Feat. Nam Jehyeon)”, which makes one realize the importance of what was forgotten by promising to always be on the other’s side, and “구구절절”, which wittily melts the overload of a one-sided love that is both complex and cute. To this are added the songs from the 6th and 7th mini-albums “와장창” and “선”, re-recorded with the voice of member SHIN GWANG IL, newly included in “CHILDISH VER.”.
LUCY is a four-member group composed of SHIN YECHAN (Violin), CHOI SANGYEOP (Vocals/guitar), CHO WONSANG (Bass/production) and SHIN GWANG IL (Drums/vocals). Starting with the first single “DEAR.” on May 8, 2020, they built their fandom by relentlessly releasing records and singles with varied sensibilities, OSTs and collaboration project singles. They serve as headliners in various festivals.
LUCY will hold a solo concert at the “KSPO DOME” (Olympic Gymnasium) in Songpa-gu, Seoul, next May. Through this, LUCY realizes another radiant dream, that of “entering the Olympic gymnasium”, 6 years after its debut.
