The group BTS has tinted Mexico City purple.

From May 7 to 10 (local time), BTS illuminated the ESTADIO GNP SEGUROS in Mexico City with its tour “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN MEXICO CITY”, meeting about 150,000 spectators over three days. This was their first solo concert as a full group in Mexico in about 10 years and 10 months, their last visit dating back to July 2015.
On that day, BTS captivated Mexico with solid vocals and millimetric choreographies. The integration of Mexican culture into their performances also sparked immense enthusiasm. Dancers wearing Lucha Libre masks (traditional Mexican wrestling) appeared during the “Aliens” stage, and a sequence showing V enjoying a Banderilla (local snack) during “Idol” went viral on social media.

The members shared their emotions: “You were truly the best. What more can we say? We will absolutely return to Mexico.” They added: “We will never forget the energy that reached all the way to the Zócalo square. We are leaving with wonderful memories of Mexico,” before thanking fans in Spanish.
The fervor was also felt outside the venue. Local authorities estimated that about 35,000 fans surrounded the stadium during the second and third days of the concert. As the crowd spilled onto the surrounding roads, some sections had to be temporarily closed to traffic.
The economic impact of BTS, nicknamed “BTSnomics”, is also attracting all the attention. The MEXICO CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE predicts that these concerts will generate approximately 107.5 million dollars (about 155.7 billion won) in economic benefits, including ticket sales, airfare, accommodation, catering, and local consumption. With the influx of domestic and international tourists, the accommodation sector is expected to record 17 million dollars (about 24.6 billion won) and the catering sector about 2.18 million dollars (about 3.2 billion won).

Furthermore, BTS will continue its journey to meet its fans at STANFORD STADIUM on May 16, 17, and 19.
