BIG OCEAN
When absence transforms into a declaration, BIG OCEAN heals the wounds of a canceled tour with a vibrant pop-funk anthem full of hope.

The K-pop world vibrated with shared disappointment when BIG OCEAN‘s 2026 European tour was suddenly canceled. But rather than letting silence take over, the world’s first hard-of-hearing K-pop group chose to do what they do best: transform distance into music. This May 19, the trio will unveil their brand-new digital single, “MAKE IT UP TO YOU”, a true love letter dedicated to all the fans who were waiting for them on the other side of the world, transforming frustration into a promise of reunion.
To prove that words are accompanied by actions, JISEOK, PJ, and CHANYEON anticipated the official release on May 17 during a private and exclusive online concert. Broadcast at 3:00 p.m. CEST solely for ticket holders of the aborted European tour, this closed-door event offered a major surprise: the very first performance of “Make it up to you”. Faced with the exact audience for whom the song was written, the emotion of PADO vibrated intensely across all connected cities, two days before the official release of the track.
The members of the group personally invested themselves in this project by directly participating in writing the lyrics alongside an international team. The result is of a rare sincerity: the cities they could not visit are explicitly named, and expressions in local languages were subtly woven into the text so that every European fan could hear their own corner of the world resonate.
“We couldn’t be there in person, but we never stopped thinking about you. This song is our way of saying: we will come back, and we are going to make it up to you,” the group confides.
To bring this message to life, BIG OCEAN reunited with producer Frankie Biggz, extending the creative synergy that had already shaped their third mini-album, “THE GREATEST BATTLE”. On a musical level, “Make it up to you” is a sophisticated pop-funk gem that fuses the energy of a live band with the purity of a studio production. Navigating between 70s disco-funk and modern city-pop, the track opens with a lyrical piano melody before deploying into a dynamic tempo of 127.5 BPM, supported by the keyboards of Naré K and the guitar of Carlos Maestro.
The technical structure of the track shines through its efficiency, driven by a punchy slap bass and a relentless four-on-the-floor rhythm. Synchronized electric guitars and touches of sparkling synthesizers bring a rich harmonic texture, while stop-start dynamic plays build tension from the verses up to an airy final climax, sublimated by complex backing vocals and a striking falsetto chorus.
With “Make it up to you”, available starting May 19 on all global streaming platforms, BIG OCEAN brilliantly proves that no distance or setback can break the unique bond and love that unite them with their audience.
