JIHYO of TWICE partners with the Jamaican-born global artist SHENSEEA to conquer the global music market this summer.

MUSICOW US announced that the new song “Distant lover”, created by JIHYO and SHENSEEA as part of a fandom project, will be revealed this coming July 10.
This project attracts the attention of music fans because it is the first meeting between one of the representative singers of K-pop and a world-renowned dancehall artist. It is notably the first time that SHENSEEA engages in an official collaboration with a Korean K-pop artist.
Bursting with the freshness of the summer season, “Distant lover” is a track based on the afrobeat genre, which has been enjoying constant popularity on the global music market lately. The key point of this new song lies in the harmony that JIHYO and SHENSEEA, endowed with different charms, were able to create on this sophisticated afrobeat rhythm.
Counting more than 100 million listeners across the world, SHENSEEA is considered one of the most influential dancehall artists in the international music market. She was nominated twice at the Grammy Awards and marked her presence on the Billboard charts as well as the reggae album charts. Moreover, she established herself as an iconic artist of her genre thanks to collaborations with global stars such as Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage, or even Sean Paul.
MUSICOW, which designed this project, expressed its ambition not only to expand exchanges between Korean and American artists, but also to build a new musical ecosystem where fans can participate directly in the process of creation and development of music.
Furthermore, the collaboration song of JIHYO and SHENSEEA, “Distant lover”, will be released simultaneously worldwide on July 10 via various online music platforms.
