South Korean artist ZELO makes a remarkable comeback on the music scene with the official release of the music video for his track “ELa”. Available right now on YouTube, this production plunges viewers into a captivating and modern universe, affirming once again the multifaceted talent of the performer. Both an accomplished singer and performer, ZELO demonstrates with this release his ability to renew his artistic signature while proposing a personal, accomplished, and particularly immersive work.
On the musical level, “ELa” is the result of a rigorous and inspired collaboration. Jointly produced by MSICK and JOHNJ, the track brings together for composition MSICK, JOHNJ, RONNIE ICON, and ZELO himself, while the lyrics were crafted by ZELO, RONNIE ICON, MSICK, and JOHNS. On the arrangement and instrumentation side, MSICK shines by taking charge of the keyboard, bass, and drums, sublimated by the vocal harmonies provided by ZELO. Recording took place at GEMSTONE STUDIO, before being entrusted to ANDNEW (salpotstudios) for meticulous mixing and mastering.
The visual implementation of the track relies on an ambitious visual production directed by director JAY_BANEX (MORSE CODE), who also handles the artistic direction of the video. The technical team brings together seasoned talents, notably assistant directors Donghyuk Han and Sarah El-Ali, director of photography John Zeng, accompanied by camera assistants (Hyunjin Yoo, Hyunsoo Kim, Woonghee Lee) as well as gaffer Kim Jung woo supported by his team. The editing work performed by Van Pontis and color grading signed Jiseok Choi bring a neat cinematic finish to the whole project.
The choreographic performance constitutes one of the major pillars of this music video, carried by a direction shared between Jeon Chan Koog and ZELO. On set, the artist evolves alongside an energetic troupe of dancers composed of ASHLEY, CHELL, LIXIAN, FLORA, BLANKA, and YOOUJIN, without forgetting the presence of actress Lera Em. The visual atmosphere is magnified by the work of artistic director Lee Jiwoo (CRATE) and her team, styling by Lee jin hyuck and Son yu jin, hair and makeup created by Park Ha & Boryeon, as well as shots signed OJPICTURES _OJ.
This major project was able to see the light of day thanks to the synergy of numerous entities and industry professionals. Project management, marketing, and management were orchestrated by BOK, ASHLEY, YOO YOUNG WOONG (GEMSTONE ENM), and VLACKSQUAD STUDIO. Graphic design and packaging were entrusted to CADI and LEERYAN. Finally, the project is sponsored by Chexcar and officially presented by VLACKSQUAD, illustrating the success of a collective effort serving the artist’s vision.
