AOORA
The singer AOORA saw his unique value recognized as an artist connecting Indian music and K-pop.
AOORA attended the “BRIGHT OTT & STYLE AWARDS” held on August 8 in Mumbai, India, and had the honor of receiving the “Vocal Sensation” award with his song “Tip tip baarish”. This award comes to reward the merit of AOORA who, beyond simply presenting K-pop in India, established himself as a unique artist locally by melting Indian language, culture and sensibility into his own musical colors.
The Indian music project “SOUND OF INDIA”, through which AOORA created music by communicating directly with the locals and from their experiences and emotions, served as a springboard for this recognition. The awarded song “Tip tip baarish” is a track inspired by the emotions and memories that Indians feel while watching the rain, and receives the critique that the sensitive performance unique to AOORA and the sensibility of Indian popular music formed a perfect harmony through the official music video.
AOORA expressed his impressions: “The thing I considered most important while conducting musical activities in India was to deeply understand the culture of the Indian people and to express their stories with sincerity through my music” and “I think this award is not my accomplishment alone, but an award received with the Indian fans and all the local people who created music with me. In the future as well, I wish to become a solid bridge connecting the music and culture of Korea and India.”
Furthermore, AOORA is an artist whose musical accomplishments were recognized by winning the “Iconic Spiritual Song of the Year” award at the “MID-DAY SHOWBIZ ICONS AWARDS 2026” held in Mumbai, India, thanks to the single “SHIVA SHIVAM” inspired by Indian culture and Hindu hymns earlier this year, and he continuously fulfills the role of a private diplomat connecting cultural exchanges between Korea and India beyond simple musical activities.
